  • Client-Specific Data: Company name (optional), service preferences, booking history, and credit balance
  • Assistant-Specific Data: Specialty, bio, services offered, pay rate, availability, experience level, service area and radius, and location coordinates derived from zip code
  • Payment Information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full card details on our servers. We retain Stripe session IDs and payment intent references for transaction records.
  • Communications: Messages sent through the platform between clients and assistants
  • Agreement Records: Timestamps and acknowledgments of platform agreements you accept during signup

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account
  • To match clients with nearby assistants based on zip code and service radius
  • To process credit purchases and maintain transaction records
  • To facilitate bookings and communication between clients and assistants
  • To send booking confirmations, important updates, and service notifications
  • To maintain platform security and prevent fraud
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and platform agreements
  • To improve our platform and develop new features

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) with authentication managed by Firebase Authentication. We implement the following security measures:

  • Role-based access controls ensuring users can only access their own data
  • Administrative access is restricted to authorized personnel
  • Passwords are hashed and managed by Firebase Authentication — we never store plaintext passwords
  • Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor
  • All data transmission occurs over encrypted HTTPS connections
Firestore Security: Our database rules enforce that users can only read and update their own profiles. Assistants' profiles are readable by signed-in users to facilitate the booking process. Only administrators can delete records or modify transactions.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Between Clients and Assistants: When a booking is made, relevant information (name, service details, location) is shared between the client and assigned assistant to facilitate the service.
  • Payment Processing: Your email is shared with Stripe to process credit purchases. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment data.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Cookies & Tracking

Our platform uses Firebase Authentication which stores authentication tokens in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We may use basic analytics to understand platform usage and improve our services.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can view your account information through your dashboard at any time.
  • Correction: You can update your profile information through your account settings.
  • Deletion: You may request account deletion by contacting us. Note that we may retain certain records (transaction history, agreement acknowledgments) as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
  • Data Export: You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.

8. Independent Contractors

Assistants on the Standby Assistr platform are independent contractors (1099), not employees. As such, their personal information is collected for the purpose of facilitating services through the platform. Assistant profiles — including name, specialty, rating, and availability — are visible to signed-in clients to enable the booking process.

9. Children's Privacy

Our platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy
